I LOVED my OB rotation at the hospital!!!
We only had five days total to cover the different OB areas. We spent one day each in Antepartum (before birth, high risk pregnancies, pre term labor etc.), Labor & Delivery, Post Partum (after birth), and Newborn Nursery. We also had the option to spend a day in NICU or a second day in the area of our choice. I opted for the day in NICU and I absolutely LOVED it!!! I was able to work with this amazing nurse who was so great at asking questions to get you thinking about what to do to care for these precious little babies. I had two little 29 weekers (born at 29 weeks), they were so itty bitty, they looked like tiny, old men, I just wanted to hold and love on them.
Labor and Delivery was really great too, except that I didn't get to see a vaginal birth! Too much information? Sorry, it's my blog.
Newborn nursery was so so so much fun too. Basically I just held little baby angels all day long. We also gave baths, did assessments, cleaned bottoms and swaddled.
I absolutely loved it. What could be better than taking care of mamas that worked so hard carrying these precious little souls and then caring for these precious little baby angels.
Aside from the fact that my OB teacher ruined the class for me, I loved the content. I found it so interesting and intriguing. I wish we could have had more time in those units as well as had a rotation in the Pediatric units.
I am so anxious to be done with school and get some real hands on experience!
I wish I had baby face pictures of all my family, friends and their babies so show you all my favorite babies!

The OB clinicals would have been my fave, too!
Have you seen a vaginal birth at all? It's awesome to see what our bodies can do. I was there for both kids with my sister and even cut the cord for both my nephews because their dad was a pansy.
Jessalee, that is awesome!! I am jealous of you, I have not seen a vaginal birth ever. Ok, on TV, but that doesn't count in my book.
