Just some words that I liked...

One of my old roomies posted this on her facebook status

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened. -Dr. Suess

We also just watched Forever Strong. It was good. There was this big Hawaiian guy in it and a lot of polys that made me miss my Hawaiian home.

It's not about rugby, it's about young men. It's not about building a championship team, it's about building championship boys, boys who will be forever strong. - Larry Gelwix

Dad's Birthday!

My dad turned the ripe ol' age of 62!!! What an old man! The worst part is that if he turned 62, then I'll be turning 32 this year!!!! Oh my goodness.
We had a family dinner at my house the Sunday after his birthday, even some of Brandon's family joined us. Everyone brought something and we had a wonderful time over great food and even better company!

I hope this year brings my dad the best things in life!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

This isn't a current picture (obviously, look how little Topher is). I was looking for the picture of my dad reading the paper with the cat, because I think it is the funniest picture around, but I guess I don't have it. Heidi, do you have it on your computer? Will you email it to me?
And yes, those are grocery sacks on Topher's feet. We were farmin'

Three down, One to go

Today was the start of my final semester of nursing school!!!! I couldn't be more excited. I wish graduation was yesterday!
We quickly found out that we could essentially start on all of our projects and clinicals starting now. Which is also hugely overwhelming because, where do you start!! My goal is to get everything I possibly can out of the way by spring break. I also have to have all my new grad application stuff in by the end of February!! AAAAHHHHHHH! Anyone really good at resumes? I suck at them!

I also found out that graduation has been moved up two weeks!!! Hoooraaaaayyyyy! What news could be better than that! It is now April 26, I'm so excited.

And, tickets to Hawaii are cheap in May, who wants to come? And by "who wants to come" I mean, "who wants to take Brandon and I?"

Baby Wes!

We finally got to meet little baby Wes. He is such a cute little snuggle baby.

Our friends Tammy and Toby had their second little boy just before Christmas, then he ended up in the NICU for a bit with some hyperbilirubin levels and he finally came home and had a lot of family visitors. We finally were able to go visit with them, hang out with Dallas, eat pizza and love on a new little baby. It was probably good that it took a little time before we saw them after Wes was born, it gave me a little more time to finish the baby blanket I made for him.

Thanks for a fun night Thorntons!! We always have such a great time with you guys!

Baby Gavin

I don't even know what to say...

My heart goes out to the Norton family.
I can't say it better than this sweet, strong and faithful mother. To find out more, look here.

Brandon's Birthday!!

We celebrated with a family dinner at Texas Roadhouse, a family favorite. We had a wonderful time eating and giving gifts. We finished off at his parents house with cake and ice cream and a little entertainment by Peg.

It was such a wonderful evening, how could it not be, good food and time with my favorite person in the world!

Happy Birthday Brandon My Love!!!

Look how evil his eyes look in the second picture!

note the missing left foot on Peg the squirrel

We had some pleasantly unexpected visit from some friends on Brandon's actual birthday. Miles, Bonnie and Clay decorated his car with balloons and a huge gift bag and came by singing to him.

Tammy and Toby also stopped by with a bag of what we like to call devil toffee popcorn. Once you taste it you know why it's called that, but you won't realize you know it until you come up for air and realize the bag of popcorn is gone.

It was so nice to have them all come by. Brandon's birthday, like most holidays in his family, was spread out through a few days which is always fun.

I bought Brandon these magnetic balls called, bucky balls. One day when I came home from work he had made me the necklace above. He's so creative. It has since been destroyed and made into and array of other things.

Thank you to all the family and friends who helped us celebrate!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Welcome 2010!!!

We had a nice evening with Miles, Bonnie and Clay. We started at our house with a ton of food (we're still working on left overs), Clay was mesmerized by our fan. We later went to Miles and Bonnie's place for games, a puzzle and a little ball dropping!

Clay went out for a little play in the snow before we headed to his house

We had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to what this new year will bring!!

Wishing you all the very best and I hope this new year brings joy, happiness and new adventure to you all!!!
