Blog Template

So I'm trying to get a good blog background. I like that last one because it was wide and more that one picture would fit horizontally. However, it was plain and boring. I do like this new one, it's pretty, but skinny space. I'll keep this for a bit and see what else I can find. If I were smart enough I would write a code for exactly what I want. Oh well, I'll stick with the Chemistry, Pharmacology and Health Law.

A Gift From Ty!

So, I have this friend, we'll call him Brandon. Brandon has a little eight year old brother, we'll call him Ty. Ty loves to write stories and draw pictures and create a variety of imaginative things. A couple of weeks ago he made a Civil War re-enactment. It was made on posterboard with little plastic army men with painted rivers, muddy spots, bunkers and blood. It even had little write ups about Southern America and Northern America. He was so excited about it and he wanted his brother and I to come and see it. I personally was very impressed, but not as impressed as I was with what was to come. Ty made me a present as well. It was in a shoebox, I opened it and there was the cutest diorama. Well check out the pictures below and I'll finish with the explaination.

Ok, so in the foreground is "Ty" he has a broken arm and in the background is "nurse Heather". I am standing next to an x-ray of Ty's broken arm. Also on the wall are all the documents saying that I am a nurse.
It was the cutest thing and I wanted to share it with all of you.
Very creative kid. I think Creative Inc. should hire him. =)

mixy, fixy, look who's SIXTY!!

I couldn't think of any other words to use so I just made some up. Yeah, so my dad is sixty! Crazy. He looks good for an old man. I think it's more scary that he was thirty when I was born, so...
My grandparents, me, Heidi and some other friends had dinner with my parents and then my mom cooked up a little surprise party and invited a bunch of their friends over for dessert. It was fun. Check out the pics.

Happy New Year!!

I know, I don't post and don't post then go hog wild.
Christmas was nice. I celebrated with my family on Christmas Eve because I had to work Christmas day. We had fondue, mmmm and went to a live nativity that a family in my parents ward put on. It was freezing, but cool. They had donkeys, alpacas, rabbits and sheep there!
Christmas day was, well it was just another day at work. My favorite security guard was working and I haven't seen him in months so we had Christmas lunch together. After my three days of work during Christmas I had a nice stretch off (six days!) Then I worked one and six more days off. This last stretch wasn't planned, it just worked out like that today.
New Year's was nice as well. We went to the institute party. They had it at the YMCA and had a variety of things going on... a rock climbing wall, magician, tons of food, music, blow up games, karaoke, all kinds of activities. I had a good time seeing old Caldwell friends that I haven't seen since, well I think last New Year's. The music wasn't all it was cracked up to be so we didn't stick around till the end, we just went home and watched a movie and drank martinelli's.
The real fun was New Year's night we decided to have a game night and we played this new game that my friend Heidi bought me for my birthday called "Bang!" it is so much fun. If you haven't played it you should buy it and gather some friends and play!
I hope you all have a happy and prosperous New Year! It's going to be a great year!!!!

Here are some pics from the "Gardens a-Glow" at the Botanical gardens here in Boise and this years Christmas tree, not burning down. =) As well as the wise "men" from the live nativity.

Weddings

One of the nurses I worked with was married on Dec 15th. They have such a sweet love story. They've know each other for years. He (Paul) majored in the same thing as her (Helen) first husband and for years he would come and eat dinner with the two of them. They were the best of friends. She and her husband were his crew on his sailboat. Paul, was later married to an amazing woman and through a turn of events they lives went their separate ways. They kept in touch here and there with Christmas cards and such. Through another turn of events Paul's wife became ill after many many happy years and passed away. Helen's signifcant other also had some health problems and passed away as well. They reconnected and helped each other through a difficult time and reestablished their strong friendship and fell in love.
The wedding was beautiful, aside from the very large, very colorful statue of a woman. The reception was nice. Good food, beautiful decorations (all made by Helen and her brother) and dancing. It was nice and I had a good time. I love seeing my co-workers outside of work, all gussied up.
I had a great time and I had a great date!

In the left hand corner you can see the favors that were made by Helen out of Gar fish shells. They are ornaments and beautiful.

Guitar Hero

Yep, it's sweeping the nation and after Thanksgiving I was hooked as well. Lucky for me Target had a doorbuster deal on the playstation version of Guitar Hero III with two guitars. I quickly picked it up and have been jamming out on it since. Yeah, I think I'm a rockstar. The Heidi's think they are too...
