joy riding!
Look at Sheena, she is sticking her tongue out at Rachel! Maybe she didn't like the bird jokes. : )

This is Prairie

So this is Prairie. I know this picture right above doesn't look all that spectacular, but it is great for playing capture the flag! This is where my friends and I like to go. It is the in the middle of nowhere Idaho and it is beautiful. The picture posted on my blog side bar is on the way to Prairie. A friend has some land and a cabin up there so we go for overnight trips and it is perfect. So peaceful and relaxing. We sleep under the stars, play capture the flag, pool and the ring master game, ride dirt bikes and four wheelers, roast hotdogs and smores and have the best time. There is nothing like getting away from everything and hanging out in this beautiful nature God has created for us.

I don't know how I am so blessed that I get to enjoy this, but I am so grateful for it!!

I think we're going up for the 4th of July, should be awesome!

Anatomy and Physiology

I haven't done this for a while, in fact I think it has been nine or ten months. So much for the blogging excitement.

I recently went back to school. I currently have a bachelors degree in International Cultural Studies and I loved every minute of it, however was never really sure what I wanted to do with it. So, here I am going to school again and hopefully when this round is done I will be a nurse!

Back to school has been a whole new experience, a good one! I am really enjoying this class I am taking now, anatomy and physiology. It just amazes me how many little intricate details go into every little thing we do, thought we have, move we make, blink of an eye, everything. It is completely overwhelming and how I am going to get all this information to stick I don't know, but it is amazing all the same.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I am in absolute awe with the precise detailed creation that the human body is.

And if anyone can really explain membrane potentials to me in english and how they correlate with action potentials and the contraction of a muscle cell I would be eternally grateful : )

Best Friend Reunifications

Dickens, Me and Mrs

My two best friends Mrs and Dickens. Dickens says I'm suppose to do a post about the Best Friend Reunification this last weekend, so here it is, I thought I would include a picture from our last major one in June of 2005. Dickens and I flew out to Florida to visit Mrs. It was a blast, we hit Disney, the beach and of course multiple malls!!!

We had another weekend of fun this last weekend. Hal and Patty Mickelsen (Mrs and Dickens parents) have been called to serve as mission president over the Novosibirsk, Siberia mission. So exciting. They returned home from their first mission (same mission) about a year ago and now are heading back to preside over the mission. They are so amazing and have been great examples in my life. The people of Russia are truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with such great people. I know they feel truly blessed to work with the amazing people of Russia.

So, our weekend... I went to their family reunion in Salem. Some of the extended family still looks at me strangely when I show up, like "who are you". I would think they would have realized that Hal and Patty adopted a seventh child by now. I've been at all major family functions, family work days, etc for I think the past 20 years. I haven't been on any family trips yet...hmm. Hal did ask if I was coming to Siberia to visit, I think that was an invite? I'm going to have to find out if I get in on the family deal : )

I made my first real art purchase on this trip. It is a print of the picture that is in the background of the above picture. It is beautiful! The artist is Lynne Milman and her art was featured on the cover of the December New Era as well. She is very talented and has a wonderful story behind this picture of Christ.
We also hit the mall of course, what is a best friend reunification without shopping!
It was a great weekend, definately not long enough. I miss my friends and those precious little babies. I think they are needing another maulfest 2007. It's too bad we all live so far away from each other, it's just not the same. We may have to do something about that one of these days. I guess for now we will have to settle for Thanksgiving in Seattle!! I better start checking on plane tickets!
