Tagged Again!

I suppose after getting hit twice I should respond in some way or another. The tag from Heidi had a list of different things, favorite movies, places I've worked, stuff like that. Tricia's is more of a things most people don't really know about me. I am terrible at coming up with this kind of stuff. I'll give it a go, but really if you want this kind of info you should ask Tricia, Jessica or Heidi. I have no memory for stuff like this. Random trivia is a whole different story.

So there is number one. I love trivia! Why or how I do not know, but I just remember these random, useless things. If you were wondering what the plant was that Christian Fletcher and his crew was bringing back to Europe from Tahiti on the HMS Bounty, which caused the mutiny on the bounty, it was breadfruit trees, also called Ulu, or Uru. And where it was that the girl in "While You Were Sleeping" always wanted to travel to? It is Florence, Italy, not Venice which is what the card says in the Disney trivia game, it was printed wrong.

This one I am stealing from Tricia because I too am a "Jack of all Trades, Master of none" (this is why when Tricia, Jessica and I go into business together we will offer a variety of services ; )). I love to know and learn how to do a variety of things, and I think it's fun to DIY. I'm not a pro at any of it, but I love to sew, cook, bake, clean, sing, dance, take pictures, crochet, draw, pottery, make cards, fix things, color hair, the list could go on and on.

I'm kinda bossy, and particular, maybe a little picky, I like things done a certain way. I'll leave it at that. If you find this hard to believe we haven't spent enough time together : )

Apparently I am the queen of eye rolling. We were having dinner with my parents, grandparents, Annie and Heidi P. I was telling them about a comment made in sunday school and how I had to fight everything inside me not to roll my eyes (not something you can hide real well). This is when my dad jumped in and told me how he was constantly telling me as a kid, as I was walking away from him, to stop rolling my eyes. When I think about it I do fight the urge often...

I am a very loyal friend. Annie gave me this suggestion to write so I guess if anyone wants to elaborate on it feel free. My family and friends are very important to me and I will do just about anything for them.

I'm horrible at these things. I'm sure once this is posted I will think of a plethora of weird little quirks that only few people know about. Maybe it is best that only a few people know about these quirks though.

I will finish with the tag from Heidi, well a cliff notes version...

I've worked a variety of jobs from a florist shop gopher, to spraying for mosquitos around Lake Lowell, to a dishwasher at my college cafeteria to unit clerk in the Critical Care unit.

There are tons of movies I could watch over and over, I love Jane Eyre, While you were sleeping, Princess Bride. Can I put in TV series? I am currently totally, completely and ridiculously addicted to "The Office". I love Jim and Pam! I also love the TV series "Ed" it was only on for about four seasons, but I loved it! I want to own a bowling alley now because of it.

I love a good medium rare steak and potatoes, pasta and a great cream sauce with garlic, kalua pig, homemade bread, cheese, fruit and cream, my homemade chili, raspberry sauce, anything chocolate, well not anything, it has to be good chocolate. I don't like the cheap stuff, I throw it away, don't ever buy it for me. Probably my most favorite dessert, and this is hard for me because I'm not a favorites kind of person, but I love, love, love Pinapple Barbadoes. Rachel is the only other person in the world that I know who understands the divinity of this most delectable dessert.
I really could go on and on in this catagory because I love to eat, but I will stop here.

I've lived in Caldwell and Boise, Idaho, Hawaii, Tahiti (for six weeks), and Provo, Utah. I'm definately willing to try a variety of other places. I hate moving though. I love to experience other cultures though and I think the best way to do that is to live in those places. I want to be a worldwide local.

I want to visit everywhere, my list of hobbies is expanse and I spend way too much time on the internet to start listing websites I visit. I do love to visit everyones blogs regularly though and I love to get updates on what everyone is doing!!! = )

Sorry, this has turned into the worlds longest entry, so much for cliff notes, but I didn't tag myself. = )

OH, and I tag all of you who have blogs and haven't done one of these already.

Spitting distance from 30

I love any excuse to party, eat, and spend some good times with family and friends! This weekend was a great one.

Friday night we had a little precursor to my birthday party. My mom really wanted to check out the corn maze, so we gathered a group and headed out. It was a blast. Without fail anytime you enter one of those mazes you tend to lose half of your group, usually because you have some joker that runs off down another row and tries to scare everyone else ;~) I ended up separated from the group during the first phase (they usually have two phases, I guess it makes it a little easier).

I made it out of the first phase probably five minutes before everyone else. I hooked up with some little teenage boys that earlier had reprimanded me for cutting through the corn to get to another row. I think they felt pretty cool when they were able to help this rebellious, older girl out of the maze. hahaha! yeah right. So while I was out waiting for everyone else they started the pig races. No way I was going to miss that! The had three races, luckily everyone else made it out before the first group of pigs took off. They chose volunteers from the audiance to wave a bandana for each pig running. I got to cheer on a pig the second round. My pig "MC 'Ham'mer" won, and I won a pig nose.
I know, dead sexy

We hit the second phase after the races were over and Heidi and I took off on our own. One group of people made it out pretty quick, my dad lost himself and when I called him he waved a cornstalk around so we could find him. We all got out and realized my mom was still in the maze, alone. So I went off to track her down.

We went home and Annie cooked us up some stellar stew and we carved pumpkins and listen to Brian Regan (stand-up comedian, hilarious)

up top left: Heidi Peterson preparing the pig for Saturday, top right: me digging out the insides of my pumpkin, middle: A couple of the pumkins we carved, bottom left: Sheena and Matt who I think is really enjoying his stew, bottom right: Bridger, who is really having a good time contrary to the look on his face = )

Saturday: Birthday!!!

It was conference weekend, always nice to be able to enjoy church from the comfort of you home and pj's. It is also amazing to be able to listen to the Prophet of God. While listening to one of the apostles speak about Christ it hit home I think more than it ever has before that these men have such a personal relationship with Christ. How cool and what a great relationship to aspire to have with Christ. Just imagine what it would do for the rest of your life...

We ate,my dad attempted to play happy birthday on the trumpet, but he couldn't stop laughing, blew out candles (I nailed them all!! 29, and I got my birthday wish!!), opened gifts and set up the projector and screen and watched a movie out under the stars. Well, some of us did, some of the lightweights (or maybe they were just the smart ones =)) sat inside on the couches and watched through the window. The rest of us sat ouside, it was cold!

L to R: Me, Annie, Bridger all really enjoying the movie (and freezing)

Sunday:

Another wonderful day of conference talks, throwing the football around in the backyard, and chilaxin with friends. It was a beautiful fall day! My favorite time of year by far, hands down! We took a personality test (I love those things) I am an "ISTJ". And a few more friends came over that night for a quick visit.

It was a great weekend!

Thanks again everyone!!!
