Rockaway Beach 2007!!!!!!!!
Rockaway Beach
Twin Rocks
I don't even know what to say, it was just a great vacation, with great people and great fun, great weather, great beach house, great nights, great vacation!
My friend Christa, who I work with, hooked us up with her family beach house at Rockaway beach. It sits off the beach just a little and has this amazing view of the ocean. I am crazy in love with the ocean. I could have sat on the couch in the upstairs family room and just looked at it for hours.
It was perfect: running on the beach in the morning, skim boarding in the afternoon. We took a couple trips around: Tillamook to the cheese factory where we had cheese, super long beef stick and ice cream, Portland to OMSI for the Body Worlds exhibit, and Cannon Beach, home to some of the filming of Goonies.
We didn't hit any great seafood joints, but Adam and Annie cooked us up some amazing salmon. We also had some great food at the "Upper Crust" pizza place. Good food, strict rules, apparently children are to remain seated at all times. Yep, there were signs posted that said just that! And yet they tempted the kids to move with the video games they had.
Sunday was the best day, it was absolutely gorgeous!! I couldn't believe it, you wouldn't think the sun would be shining so brightly on the coast, but it was. We went to Sacrament meeting and by the amount of people that came pouring out of the church after the first block I'm guessing that half of those that were there were just visiting. We hit the beach after, it was just so nice, we even ended up with our own personal "sun god" Jared, who was quite burnt after our day at the beach.
It was an amazing trip! We really had a great time doing not much of anything. It was nice and relaxing which I think was really great for everyone. I am so so so glad that everyone who came: Heidi, Sheena, Dustin, Rachel, Annie, Jessica, Adam and Jared.
Thanks you guys!
It was a great start to an annual tradition!!!

Marriage is what bring us here today!
The day finally arrived, Christy and Tyler got married!! It has been a crazy week, with summer school finishing up and running crazy getting things ready for a bridal shower and the wedding.
Friday night we hosted a bridal shower for Christy. It was so much fun. I was stressed out of my mind, couldn't eat. We had flowers coming at ten o'clock that night and then it would be the usual all nighter putting things together.
Bless their hearts, Annie, Rachel, Heidi and Sheena all stayed up so late helping me: cut, strip and arrange flowers. Couldn't have do it without them!!! We did 11 arrangements, bouts, corsages, and a couple bouquets. I also found out that at four thirty in the morning all the Wal-Mart workers go out and collect the shopping carts that are strewn across the parking lot.
I know, information you could live without, I could have too.
We finished about seven o'clock, loaded all the flowers up and took them to the church, went home and crashed for a couple of hours before we had to get going again.

Oooohhh! The bouquet.
25 roses, 9 calla lillies and about a dozen stephanotis. I'll be honest, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
What do you think Mrs and Dickens?
I had great help, but it sure wasn't the same without you guys!!!
Christy and Tyler, or as we like to call them "Christer and Tylie"

We met up with everyone outside the temple, did the pictures thing, went to the luncheon, home again for a twenty minute rest and then off to the reception where there were people working on the cake I was suppose to be putting flowers on, flowers that were too big... Oh, well by that time I stopped caring about most things. It takes a lot more work when you haven't had any sleep and you no longer have any filter to not lash out at people. I think I did pretty well though. I must be getting good at this.
I love weddings!! We had a lot of fun, met some really great people.
We met the Marlers from Franklin, Idaho, Christy grew up with their daughter in Ohio, they have since moved over this way. He teaches institute at Utah State and made good friends with us. Invited us to come and visit, so we could go boating and four wheeling and he would find us all kinds of guys to be set up with!
It was such a great time and I am so happy for Christy and Tyler, what a beautiful couple!
And as much as I love weddings I am so glad it is over and so happy that a week from now I will be sitting on a beach in Oregon doing nothing but relaxin!
What a whirlwind!
